Integrated psychiatry is a worldwide developing movement that aims at the integration of complementary and alternative medicine
(CAM) into conventional psychiatry, based on scientific experiments into safety and effectiveness. CAM is diagnosis, treatment
and/or prevention which complements mainstream medicine by contributing to a common whole, by satisfying a demand not met by
orthodoxy or by diversifying the conceptual frameworks of medicine (Ernst e.a. 1995).

Dear Friends of CMBM,
I'm blogging from Port-au-Prince, where we're meeting lots of people and organizations, with aidworkers and Haitians, and laying the groundwork for another of our psychological trauma relief programs, like the ones we've established in Kosovo, Gaza, Israel, and in post-Katrina New Orleans
