13/2. Micronutriënten voor psychische klachten 213/2. [Engels]
Micronutriënten voor psychische klachten 2 Dr. S. Shannon, psychiater en schrijver, Verenigde Staten. |
All of our brain neurochemistry is dependent on the nutrients that we ingest. At the most simple level our food must contain
the 20 essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals that the enzymes in our body require to function effectively. Without
these in proper supply, neurotransmitters and neuronal activity will be impaired.
In the United States, over half of the population has one of five common deficiencies: calcium, magnesium, folate, vitamin E
and vitamin A. This presentation will explore how common dietary issues can lead to common psychiatric disorders.
The majority of the time will address how to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD and bipolar disorder with the use of safe
and evidenced based nutritional supplements.
